The thighs, love handles, and abdomen can be highly problematic areas that simply refuse to go away. We meet numerous men and women who express the desire to reduce the circumference of one or more of these areas, but who wish to do so without surgery. Understandably, liposuction is the method of fat-reduction that, so far, achieves the most dramatic results. However, SculpSure is making waves in the area of non-surgical fat reduction.
What Is SculpSure?
With so many options in body sculpting available today, perhaps the first thing you need to know about SculpSure is how it works differently than any other type of treatment. SculpSure involves hyperthermic laser technology that destroys fat cells with controlled heat. The 1060nm laser first works on the uppermost layers of tissue.
After the first 4 minutes of treatment, the energy from the laser penetrates to the depth of troublesome fat cells, heating them without harming the skin or surrounding subdermal structures. In fact, the heating that takes place could cause collagen to contract, leading to tighter skin.
- This technology is currently most effective at reducing small areas of fat. FDA approval includes the thighs, abdomen, and love handles. The limited treatment areas are not insignificant, by any means, and the results seem to be greater as a result of this focus. After one treatment, as much as 24% of the targeted cells are destroyed.
- Multiple applicators lead to customized treatment. The careful use of various applicators enables us to achieve the best possible contouring across one or more appropriate treatment areas. If you want more than one area treated, we can schedule back to back sessions.
- It’s a process. The non-surgical fat reduction is a process that enables the body to naturally metabolize incapacitated fat cells. Results occur gradually over several weeks. It’s possible that you won’t even start to notice a change in your body for the first 6 weeks. After that, improvement becomes gradually more apparent. The ultimate results are usually obvious at the 12-week mark. This isn’t much unlike liposuction, due to the swelling and bruising that occur after surgical fat-reduction.
