In 2023, Dr. Behr was given the opportunity to run for Visionary of the Year for the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society. Over the course of three months she raised over 300,000 dollars to the cause through several in-office and in person events.
This cause was incredibly important to Dr. Behr as she lost her childhood best friend, Kim to Leukemia. The treatment that Kim received at UCLA inspired Dr. Behr to go to medical school. As a dermatologist she was able to treat a young patient who had several skin conditions and skin cancers due to his Leukemia medication. Due to these life experiences this cause was near and dear to Dr. Behr’s heart and she spent her 60th birthday campaigning and bringing awareness to LLS.
LLS is making an impact for research to save lives and is a leader in patient support and advocacy. If you feel inclined please click the link to donate today to this incredible foundation. Click here.
