Waxing is the process of hair removal from the root by using a covering of a sticky substance, such as wax, to adhere to unwanted hair and removing it by pulling out the hair from the follicle with the wax covering.
At Behr Laser & Skin Care Center we use hard wax which is thicker than typical soft wax. It works by first hardening on the skin – hence the name. Once it hardens, our aestheticians will remove it with their hands, instead of wax strips. This practice and type of wax makes the process a lot less painful.

We ask that you stop all exfoliating products as well as retinoids at least one week prior to waxing.
What Does the Waxing Treatment Include?
Our aestheticians will do all the proper prep and finishing touches before and after your waxing service. First, they will cleanse the skin and the oils left on the skin will be neutralized. If waxing your eyebrows, they will be trimmed, and the best shape will be determined. Once the area of choice has been waxed with our hard gel, the skin will be finished with a soothing product and sunscreen will be applied. If the brows are being waxed they will be finished up with brow gel and shading with Jane Iredale brow pencils as per our patients request.
