BOTOX® Cosmetic Overview
More and more people are turning to BOTOX® to reduce frown lines between their brows, forehead wrinkles, and crow’s feet. It is a safe and effective procedure that delivers consistent results, with no downtime and minimal and brief discomfort.
What is BOTOX® Cosmetic?
BOTOX® is specially formulated with a purified protein, which relaxes the muscles when injected into the targeted area, ultimately reducing the appearance of frown lines and facial wrinkles. It is a minimally invasive procedure, allowing patients to return to normal daily activities immediately following the procedure. If necessary, a topical anesthesia can be used before your Fresno BOTOX® procedure.
Is BOTOX® safe?
FDA approved, Botox® is a safe and effective procedure that provides patients with results that can last anywhere from 3 to 5 months, on average. BOTOX has been used for over 20 years for a variety of medical conditions, and it has been FDA approved for cosmetic usage since 2002.
BOTOX® side effects
Following the BOTOX® procedure, it is not uncommon to experience some minor swelling, redness, or bruising around the targeted site. Patients can take Tylenol and/or use ice packs to help reduce swelling and relieve any discomfort. Other side effects include drooping of the eyelids, nausea, headache, and respiratory infection, but these only occur in about 1% of patients. The side effects are temporary, and they usually resolve themselves within a few weeks.
A recent survey reported that about 97% of patients were satisfied with the results of their Fresno BOTOX®. Dr. Behr has patients follow up in her office two weeks after their treatment, to make sure they are satisfied with their results. If a small touch up is done at this time, it is usually free of charge.
How can I be sure I am getting real BOTOX® Cosmetic?
Only licensed and trained healthcare professionals have the experience necessary to administer BOTOX. Dr. Behr has been using BOTOX for 15 years, and she is a trainer for other healthcare professionals.
