Simple Tips For Highlighting Your Eyes

Would you like to draw more attention to your eyes? There are plenty of simple things you can do to make them stand out. Here are a few tips to get you started:

Get Rid Of Dark Circles Under Your Eyes

You don’t want people to notice your eyes because you look exhausted with bloodshot eyes, dark circles, or puffiness in the area. Instead of looking tired, you want your eyes to look bright and refreshed.

The best way to do this is to get enough sleep. Ideally, you need about 7-8 hours of sleep each night. Turning down the thermostat, avoiding screens about an hour before bed, and keeping your bedroom dark can help you get the sleep you need.

If, in spite of your best efforts, you can’t always get enough sleep, there are a few simple tricks to reduce the appearance of dark circles under your eyes.

  • Hold a cold compress to your eyes for 30-90 seconds.
  • Use an eye cream that contains caffeine.
  • Hold a wet tea bag under your eyes for about 30 seconds.
  • Use a creamy concealer underneath your eyes.

Change Your Makeup Routine

Keeping the rest of your makeup neutral will help your eyes stand out. While there is nothing wrong with a bold red lip, it will take focus away from your eyes. You can make your eyes appear brighter and more noticeable by using a highlighter in the inner and outer corners of each eye. Colored eye shadow, dark eyeliner, and lots of mascara can also bring more attention to your eyes—in general you should save the heavier makeup looks and darker colors for going out in the evening, but this is still up to you.

Get Naturally Longer And Thicker Eyelashes

Dark, long, thick eyelashes are a perfect way to get more noticeable, more attractive looking eyes, but eyelash extensions and false lashes can be difficult to apply, and sometimes they look more fake than you’d like.

Instead of faking longer, thicker lashes, grow your own with Latisse. You’ll get natural looking results from your own lashes without applying glue or worrying about looking too made up.
