We may be in the thick of winter (as if we could really call it that here in Sunny California), but that doesn’t mean you don’t want your skin to glow from the inside out. Here, we want to touch on a few very simple ways you can promote healthy, clear skin throughout the whole year.
1.Clean it! Of course you know that you need to clean your skin. What we mean in this point is that you also need to clean your screen! Most of us touch our cell phone screen several times a day. Our fingers also touch numerous other objects. We then touch our face with the screen, essentially putting it face-to-face with a lovely cocktail of bacteria. Cleaning your screen on a daily basis is a great way to pamper your skin. All it takes is a pre-soaked eyeglass wipe.
2.Know when your products expire. Before you chug a glass of milk, chances are you glance at the expiration date. Otherwise, your stomach may be in knots – literally. Do you do your skin the same favor? Just like bacteria can accumulate in food, so it can in cosmetic products. If the idea of throwing expensive products in the trash sends you into a panic, consider purchasing smaller sized containers that you will use before they expire.
3.You are what you eat. We have all heard this statement applied to just about every aspect of health and wellness. What we eat may give us cavities or prevent them. What we put in the mouth also builds healthy skin or depletes it. For instance, omega 3 fatty-acids have been shown to reduce inflammation throughout the body, including the skin. This is important information for any individual with acne or a chronic, inflammatory skin condition.
