What laser does Dr. Behr have for tattoo removal?
Dr. Behr has the latest technology with the RevLite Q-switched Nd:YAG laser by HOYA ConBio. This laser can reliably removed black, red, green and sky blue inks. Fortunately, the RevLite™ lasers offers the correct wavelengths for full-color spectrum tattoo removal.
What type of tattoos can be removed?
The RevLite laser can remove professional, homemade, traumatic (road rash), and surgical tattoos.
How many treatments will it take to remove a tattoo?
On average, professional tattoos require 6-8 treatments, and homemade tattoos require 4-5 treatments all spaced 6-8 weeks apart. Packages of 6 treatments for the price of 5 are available in Dr. Behr's office.
Is the process painful?
The RevLIte laser emits light in very short pulses that feel much like the snap of a small rubber band. Topical anesthesia is applied and infiltration with local anesthesia can be given when appropriate.
What type of post-treatment care is necessary?
It is very important to ice the area after treatment to help prevent blistering from occurring. Antibacterial ointment and a dressing is applied after the treatment. The area should be kept clean. If a scab forms it is very important not to pick or scratch it to help prevent scarring.
