What Lasers does Dr. Behr have for hair removal?
Dr. Behr has the most advanced technology with the Light Sheer ETand the Light Sheer Duet diode lasers. The lasers produce a beam of highly concentrated lightwhich is absorbed by the pigment located in the hair follicles. The Light Sheer diode uses a chilled tip and is effective in removing hair from small areas such as the upper lip or ears. The LightSheer Duet is the state of the art in hair removal with a much larger tip 22 x 35 mm which results in much reduced treatment times. Dr. Behr is the first in the Central Valley to have this technology.
Who is best treated with these lasers?
Hair removal lasers target the pigment in the hair follicle. The laser works best on brown or black hair. It is not effective for gray or blond hair. It can be used on patients with skin types I-IV (white to asian or hispanic).
How painful is the laser treatment?
The LightSheer ET has a chilled tip for comfort. The new LightSheer Duet has vaccum assist technology for comfort. No numbing is necessary for this new technology.
How many treatments will it take?
This can vary from patient to patient but there is usually about a 20% reduction in hair growth with each treatment. It usually takes about six treatments to get the maximum hair reduction. Packages are available at a discounted rate with with six months of free touch up treatments.
